WHY ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE?
Isn't modern medicine scientific enough?

About 30 years ago, my son, Patrick, who was 6 months old, developed diarrhoea. Three doctors could not stop his half-hourly diarrhoea. Out of sheer desperation I reluctantly took my son to see a Chinese old lady at the insistence of my friend, Ah Tuck.

Living in an age of Science, I was worshipping doctors & Modern Medicine, and going to a “quack”, hurt my ego. It was not easy for me. It was like asking me to change my religion to another for which I have no faith in. But we had to stop Patrick’s diarrhoea real soon and at all cost, ego aside or else we may lose him.

Only 1 dose of boiled herbs prescribed by an “unscientific”, retired housewife stopped his diarrhoea. My perception of medicine started to change since then. On the one hand, I was happy for Patrick, and on the other, I had to find an excuse or a reason to justify modern medicine’s failure. Today, Patrick works in Bangkok.

Prior to this episode, I had always assumed that, for each disease, hundreds of remedies/medicines around the world are compared and tested by scientists before they are approved for use by doctors. So doctors will always have the best “bullets” against diseases.

That assumption almost killed my son. Today, we know that natural substances like herbs are not used by doctors because they cannot be patented and controlled by drug companies. So drug companies look elsewhere for patentable substances, never mind though that they may be second class in therapeutic effects. If this is so, then modern medicine is UNSCIENTIFIC or at best pseudo-science.

A dental visit became a nightmare for 30 years

35 years ago, at age 20, I was happy I did something for my health. My dentist in Ipoh filled up my 3 cavities with amalgam. After paying him for his services, I walked out of the clinic not knowing that he had “stuck 3 knives on my back”. (I was betrayed, but neither my dentist nor I knew about it)

About 2 months down the road, I began to suffer from allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucous membrane). I would sneeze easily , and frequently. For the next 10 years I needed a box of tissues daily to dry my nose. My feet could not stand the cold cement floor, so I must have socks and slippers on. By 7 pm I must have my doors and windows shut, because a cool breeze could cause more sneezing and colds. I had to wear 3 shirts and a thick blanket to sleep in, despite our year-round hot climate.

My immune system was wrecked because I would easily catch “flu” if the season was around. And it would take weeks before I could recover, and then to get it again. My boss wanted to give me the sack because I was taking too many medical leaves, and asked me to shape up or ship out. My doctors could only give me all those anti-histamines that made me very drowsy and sleepy.

That began my search for better health. I found nutritional supplements helpful in relieving my nasal symptoms but I realized that I still needed anti-histamines, 3 to 4 times a week.

About 4 years ago, at a seminar in Switzerland, I learnt that mercury dental fillings can damage our health. I had the 3 amalgam fillings replaced with composites. To my surprise, my health started improving day by day. Today I am completely cured and do not need any anti-histamines. I can sleep in an air-conditioned room without shirts on. My dandruff also left me. I had no more headaches from perfumes or red wines. In short all my allergies slowly disappeared.

The medical fraternity, whom we all trust, literally poisoned me with dental amalgam (which contains 50% mercury), that made me to suffer needlessly for 30 years. Tinnitus can “antidote” any E.N.T. specialist’s ego

Ruby, my wife, at age 36, started suffering from tinnitus (ringing in the ear) in 1982. It was like crickets making noise inside her left ear. The irritating sound seemed louder at night that was robbing her of her restful sleep.

Our family doctor recommended that she should see an ENT specialist at the University Hospital in P.J. For 3 days she had to be examined and tested. The doctors and professors could not find anything wrong with her. They wanted to put her on tranquilizers to help her sleep, and suggested surgery to probe into her problem experimentally, but we refused both the procedures.

I did some research and found that modern medicine has not been able to cure tinnitus, even today. Do you think that Medical Science is so useless or backward? No, definitely not. Remember, Modern Medicine is run indirectly by drug companies. When business politics enter modern medicine, profits become more important than curative results. Sincerity goes out of the window. Insincerity can create roadblocks to breakthroughs.

Ultimately, Ruby benefited from Homoeopathy, the Science that cured her tinnitus. Today her ear is completely free from ringing. (If a doctor says that a certain disease is incurable, he is speaking about his own limitation. He is not representing the healing science of other disciplines which he is not trained in.)

Christina lost her 10-year gastritis, after replacing fillings

My daughter Christina started to suffer from gastritis in her early teens. She went on to suffer from it for more than 10 years. Shortly after the removal of my dental fillings, I urged her to remove hers. She had 12 large cavities filled with amalgam which attacked her gastro-intestinal tract.

She lost her gastritis soon after she had all her fillings replaced with composites. If dental amalgam is so poisonous why didn’t the government ban it? Did the government ban the sale of cigarettes?

Ideally, all healing sciences should be studied & compared, the best and safest of which should be incorporated into the healing arts. It should be independent of the pharmaceutical industries, so as to avoid medical politicking. Unfortunately, this is not so & consumers suffer unnecessarily from a greed-based medical system.
